How to Use a Chroma-Key Travel Map Overlay
A chroma export separates the animated globe and route from TripAnim's finished backgrounds. It is useful when the map must share a frame with footage, branded graphics or a presentation, but the clean result depends on choices made before and after export.
Prepare a keyable source
Choose the chroma background and avoid adding green brand elements in the final edit behind the keyed layer. Export at the same aspect ratio as the target sequence so the globe is not rescaled twice.
Keep the original source file. Re-encoding before keying can soften edges and create block patterns in the green background, especially around fine route lines.
Key before adding creative effects
In the editor, sample the green background, adjust tolerance until the background disappears, then refine edge softness or spill suppression. Do not push tolerance so far that teal route details become transparent.
After the key is clean, add a slight shadow, glow or dark translucent plate if the map sits over visually busy footage. The effect should separate the geography without looking like a sticker.
Composite with a clear visual hierarchy
Place the map where it supports the shot rather than covering the subject. Lower-third placement works for interviews; a full-frame map can bridge locations; picture-in-picture works during narration.
Preview the composite on both a bright and dark shot. A treatment that works over sky may disappear over city lights.
